Product Line Manager*

Ductmate Industries, Inc., founded in 1978, is the largest heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) accessories manufacturer in North America, and that makes it one of the largest in the world. Ductmate products are sold through a network of over 400 distributors in the U.S.A. and through a consortium of manufacturers and distributors around the world. Ductmate designs and produces a myriad of HVAC connectors, doors, sealants and support systems. 

             

BASIC PURPOSE OF THIS JOB. 

The Product Line Manager (will develop a view of the marketplace through direct visits, phone solicitation, market research and competitive analysis.  With this knowledge, the PLM will develop a strategic marketing plan on a national level.

From this plan, the PLM will work with the Regional Channel Managers (RCM) to develop specific strategies to implement the plan within each marketplace.  The PLM will then work with the RCM to assist and implement the product strategies.

 

Construction industry experience helpful

 

A)              PRINCIPAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES. 

§                     Manages production related activities of an assigned product line

§                     Maintains relationships and acts as liaison with customer representatives. Must be seen as approachable and having the ability to gain confidence as well as the ability to provide tools in helping customers to achieve their goals.

§                     Knowledge of or experience in technologies, market trends, and customer needs, and testing applications and techniques.

§                     Knowledge in networking techniques

§                     Experience with distribution oriented product development is highly desired.

Note:  It is estimated this position will require a minimum of 60% travel.

 

40%              Collect competitive market intelligence, formulate strategic market plan while working with the marketing department to develop national marketing plan, establish market pricing guidelines

40%              Implementation and execution of the marketing plan

10%              Review and analyze efforts

10%              Ensure that sales forecasts are accurate and realistic.
