We have an amazing opportunity to join a Tier 1 provider of innovative optical laser components solutions for a broad range of diverse markets, including telecommunications, industrial, consumer electronics, medical scientific applications. In this exciting new role, you will work to develop execute plans to meet revenue profitability targets for High Power Laser Diode products. Manage all aspects, commercial technical, pertaining to assigned product line, including: product roadmaps, design win pipeline, marketing documentation, specifications, pricing, cost reduction, forecasts, etc. Develop specific marketing plans activities for the HPL product line to establish, enhance or distinguish product placement within the competitive arena.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

-Develop drive vision product marketing within the HPL product line.

-Establish pricing strategies response to specific customer RFQs.

-Prepare business case assessment for new development projects. Prioritize activities within existing projects.

-Manage design win funnel to ensure future growth prospects.

-Develop product roadmaps product line strategy in conjunction with Product Marketing

-Review sales forecast inputs internal cost reduction plans develop final product line sales margin forecasts.

-Detailed understanding management of product line financials, including revenue, profit margins, overhead expenses, excess obsolete inventory, etc.

-Thorough technical understanding of assigned HPL products how they can be used for maximum value in customer application.

- Understanding of optical, electrical, software, thermal, mechanical attributes.

-Lead wide variety of customer technical interactions including, but not limited to, initial customer introductions at tradeshows, recurring technical reviews, customer audits, detailed on-site troubleshooting problem resolution in customer labs as required.

-Visit key customers in conjunction with sales team to provide in depth product knowledge.

-Own customer technical requirements specification documentation. Must clearly communicate requirements internally to team; must negotiate with customer where applicable to align specifications with our product's technical capabilities / limitations.

-Prepare marketing documentation, including product brochures, detailed specifications, presentations, user manuals, troubleshooting guides, product change notifications, etc.

-Develop training materials provide product training both to external customers to sales personnel

-Understand drive internal resolution of customer technical issues including compliance to specification issues, product upgrade requests, any significant quality issues.

-Understand customer stated unstated needs, to develop product roadmaps guide new development activities.

-Monitor competitive activity. Keep up-to-date in relation to competitor product development competitor product performance.

 

QUALIFICATIONS:

-5+ years related product management experience in Optics, Physics, or Electrical Engineering.

-Successful track record in fiber optic communications product development highly desired.

-Familiarity with laser diode technologies in industrial applications

-Understanding of optical physics of components

-Fundamental technical understanding ability to learn details of optical, electrical, software, thermal, mechanical attributes of HPL products.

-Rigorous attention to detail follow up skills.

-Proven ability to define product strategy, as well as manage day-to-day business.

-Strong oral written communication skills.

-Strong analytical skills to develop present compelling business cases

-Ability to analyze market data product trend predictions

-Ability to work independently as part of or leading a team

-Willingness to work evenings as necessary to communicate with internal project teams customers in various time zones.

-Willingness to travel, domestically internationally about 15%-25%.
