Product Manager - Air Conditioners and Coils

Ingersoll Rand Residential Solutions, a business comprised of well-known brands like Schlage and Trane, delivers safety, comfort and efficiency to homeowners throughout North America. Our quality products, services and solutions include mechanical and electronic locks, heating and air conditioning systems, indoor air quality solutions, advanced controls, portable security systems and remote home management.

This position, Product Manager – Air Conditioners Coils will be accountable for product system management for the outdoor air conditioner and indoor coil product portfolio for Residential Solutions. Responsibilities include executing on the Multigenerational Product Plan (MGPP), gathering and verifying customer requirements for specific NPD, productivity and innovation programs. As part of these project teams the person in this position will ensure that new product positioning, pricing, cost, margins and quality targets support the overall heating product portfolio strategy and direction. The position will also support commercialization (both internal and external) for these programs.

Major responsibilities:
- Executing on the Multigenerational Product Plan (MGPP) for Trane American Standard air conditioners and indoor coil products ensuring that new product positioning, pricing, cost, margins, etc support overall portfolio strategy and direction
- Initiate and support assigned product business cases for new development programs.
- Consider implications on broader system initiatives and ensure smooth integration with the overall product systems strategy by coordinating plans with the other product systems managers.
- Actively manage assigned products, identifying and promoting growth opportunities
- Work closely with the program manager and cross-functional product development core team to deliver on-time and within budget, new product introductions for assigned products.
- Coordinate plans with market research team to obtain dealer and consumer insight to drive heating product innovation.
- Define the customer “Critical to Quality” specifications (CTQ’s) for assigned product and associated system strategies. Represent the “voice of customer” on product development teams to assure marketing objectives are met.
- Support Commercialization (both internal and external) for NPD Projects:
   o Collaborate with sales, channel marketing and strategic marketing to insure proper messaging, 
      positioning and channel execution
   o Development and timely delivery of product announcements and other marketing information and
      materials.
   o Identify training and support material needs and coordinate development.
   o Drive productivity within the assigned product portfolio through VA/VE activities including product
     tear downs, value stream mapping and gap to excellence events.
