Product Manager
DESCRIPTION:
Defines product strategy and roadmap for assigned products. Communicate the requirements to Engineering and other areas in the company, including Sales, Operations and Management to ensure a clear understanding of the project objectives and deliverables
RESPONSIBILITIES:
§ Responsible for growing sales of assigned products in line with corporate growth goals
§ Positions products based on specifications, price points, margin, delivery and other customer specifications
§ Responsible for overseeing all aspects of product launches including product pricing and packaging, preparing marketing materials, and training of staff
§ Analyze the needs of the customer base and identify new product opportunities based on market demand and company direction
§ Gathers and organizes information relating to competitive offerings and demands for the product based on communication with customers, Sales, Operations and other Managers
§ Serves as key contact for input and interpretation of issue that impact product performance, sales, quality, cost or reliability
§ Has primary responsibility for working with the appropriate departments to resolve these issues as needed
- Study competitors’ products, strengths and weaknesses
SKILLS:
- Demonstrated success leading projects, developing project plans
- Operational experience preferred
- Excellent Teamwork skills
- Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority
Must be able to travel 20% of the time (domestic and international)
EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Engineering or Physics, MBA preferred
- Minimum 5-10 years of experience in Photonics Sector
