Role description

My client is looking to hire a Product Manager with 7-10 years of equities experience for their Equity product management team.

Product Managers serve as strategy experts responsible for the development and oversight of  product areas as businesses. My clients investment products cover a wide spectrum of strategies across asset classes. 

The Product Manager my client are seeking will have responsibilities for current and future active equity strategies, with specific focus on helping grow their equity franchise in Europe. Currently, they manage $10 billion in four global active equity strategies: deep value, emerging markets, dividend, and long/short.  

Product Managers have responsibility for the following:
 

•  Strategy Expert: Develop deep expertise in the product area, including the clients investment strategies in that product, serving as an internal and external specialist

•  Market Assessment: Understand the global market for the product, including investor trends, segmentation by region and investor type and the competitive landscape

•  Product Development: Utilize product and industry knowledge to develop new investment offerings with high asset growth potential; define the vehicle, investment characteristics, market positioning, messaging and pricing of the new offering

•    Business Growth and Sales Collaboration: Work with existing/prospective institutional investors and consultants to provide detailed insight into market trends and product offerings.

Product Managers also participate in product-specific investment strategy meetings with portfolio managers and help provide portfolio managers with a clear understanding of client needs and objectives.

Finally, Product Managers have the ability to actively contribute to the Firm’s investment strategy and economic outlook development process and other important investment and client-related firm activities.

This position reports to a senior level firm professional, and will be based in London, UK.

Requirements

• The ideal candidate will possess 7–10 years’ experience in equity product management or in product specialist roles. 

•  Degree with an emphasis in Finance and Economics or a related, quantitative/analytical field from an accredited, leading business school or university, or other equivalent Advanced Degree as it relates to the position is strongly desired. Preference will be given to candidates whose field of study provides exposure to finance/capital markets and equities, or whose business experience and knowledge is aligned with the requirements of the position in one or more areas described immediately above.

•  MBA preferred

•  A Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) designation is highly encouraged once a candidate is hired, candidates must be willing to pursue CFA designation
