Product Manager

Basic Function:

The role of the Product Manager is to provide overall management, vision and direction for Hydraulic Decoking products and Solutions globally. Working collaboratively with the FSG manufacturing operations for the product line, project engineering teams, End User Sales and ISG Speciality Products, Product Director, ISG:- Directors of Technical Services, Performance Contracts, LCA, Consulting and Technology Advantage, ISG Commercial teams, Sales, Marketing, ISO Operations and Technology Advantage Engineering, to ensure ISG has a safe, competitive profitable package of Decoking Products and Solutions. The incumbent is accountable to develop and execute specific programs, either to capitalize on market opportunities, or to address Decoking product and solutions gaps, or deficiencies

Nature Scope:

The position Product Portfolio Manager, Decoking Products and Solutions reports to the Product director, special products.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Responsible for developing, communicating and implementing the overall strategy and market position for the Decoking products in all market segments. The Champion for the assigned products within FSG.  Maintains regular personal contact with, and communicates with key industry instrumentation and process control leaders, and end users with a focus on Decoking technology advancement.
  • Manages growth, profitability and customer satisfaction for the Decoking product portfolio in alignment with annual product plan. Implements key recommendations from the specific product plan.
  • Co-ordinates all technical inquiries for existing decoking systems, and manages solutions, liaising with the CSOA team, product engineering group, technology, global technical services and service organization.
  • Identifies and Implements process improvements for decoking product which will result in cost savings, manufacturing and project execution improvements.
  • Works with ISG Commercial team, FSG CSOA, Product Directors and ISO Operations to set standard recommended sell (list) prices, discount policies and to identify appropriate target cost and gross margin objectives. In collaboration with the Technology Advantage product engineer, technical services and service operations implements and maintains global design standards, product sourcing, pricing standards and repair/upgrade standards.
  • Leads and champions all FSG activities for the Decoking Products and Solutions Responsible for aspects of the total product life cycle, through new product development, new product introduction, product upgrades, maintenance obsolescence. Development and implementation of programs to address life extension, range extension, new markets, new applications and new service opportunities. Lead and manage the resources necessary to move the programs expeditiously through the FPD New Product Development Process.
  • Working with the tactical Product Portfolio Manager (s) manages the development and maintenance of product application configuration tools, sales tools, presentations, technical specifications, market pricing data, Product Reference Manuals etc.
  • Develops and implements programs to promote the technical advantages of the Decoking products, Solutions, systems, services and product upgrade programs.
  • Effectively communicates to FSG leadership team status of product portfolio, ongoing initiatives, implications and plan modification, using PIR report.
  • Actively participates in the mid year year end P.M.P. process for matrixed team. (Product tactical support, product Engineering). Lead an effective Product Management Team through aggressive use of the PMP process and by driving continual training and development of people's skills. 
  • Participates in a minimum of 80 hours training to maintain a depth of knowledge of the FSG product range (including features/benefits offerings), skills training, safety, and/or supervisory training.
  • Work as team-mates with the Business Development and Marketing Team and works in a global and collaborative manner with others in the FSG organization to plan and execute the business with positive impact against annual objectives.
  • Monitors key Decoking product performance metrics (a) and initiates and leads cross functional teams to execute corrective actions to address safety, cost, lead-time, performance or feature gaps to improve FSG's competitive position and ensure profitable growth of the Decoking Products Solutions portfolio in all market segments.
  • Market share, Book vs ship margins, multiplier trends, Parts sales trends, Corrective Action Process on Warranty Issues, Operational Capability (Cost, Quality Cycle Time).
  • Develops and executes total lifecycle product business plans incorporating Voice of the Customer, Product Competency Reviews and other Sales and Market feedback.
