Product Manager, Developer Platform - Seattle/Kirkland

With eyes focused squarely on the future, our team works closely with creative and prolific engineers to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the world's information. We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting and tailoring our solutions to all the markets where Google does business.
The role: Product Manager, Developer Platform
We are looking for entry-level Product Managers who are driven about working with developers to help them build world class applications using Google technologies. Google is a leading provider of the developer platform on the cloud which includes APIs, AppEngine, as well as tools like GWT. These products have a very broad adoption, and are showcased in Google I/O and developer events worldwide throughout the year. As the PMs in this area, you will work closely with Sales, Marketing and developers directly to gather requirements, define product strategy, execute, launch and drive adoption of your products. You will work with a great group of talented engineers and fellow Product Managers and will have the opportunity to interact closely with many different Google teams.
Responsibilities:
- Identify market opportunities, build business cases, and define product vision and strategy for developer platform and APIs
- Develop and launch new developer products
- Enhance existing products and work with sales and marketing to drive market adoption
- Partner closely with the engineering team to help determine the best technical implementation methods as well as execution schedule
- Track product development, and develop product launch plans
Minimum Qualifications:
- BA or BS Degree (In lieu of degree, 4 years of relevant work experience).
- 2 years of relevant work experience.
Preferred Qualifications:
- M.S. or Ph.D. in Computer Science or a related engineering field.
- 5 years of relevant on hands knowledge in developer and platform product with a proven track record of product delivery.
- Excellent technical abilities and analytical skills, with deep understanding of the Internet, developer, and platform space.
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to evangelize Google's products internally and externally.
- Strong organizational skills and an entrepreneurial drive.
