This role will report to the National Manager, Product and will have responsibility in respect of the product range across superannuation and investment to ensure that it continues to meet market needs and remains competitive.
The role is also responsible for reviewing the product offering to look at ways in which to enhance the features or services. This role will be a contact point for various parts of the wider business and will need to build a profile for the groups funds and to ensure that it maintains a standard of high quality products.
This person must demonstrate an ability to effectively communicate, to add value to the business by working with sales and operations to deliver product support and improvements, and to execute these improvements with excellence.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that the product range is maintained and developed on an ongoing basis as required to enable the group to meet its business plan objectives.
- Co-ordinate the drafting and participate in the due diligence of the regulated disclosure documents, ensuring they are completed and are compliant. Manage the roll out and communication process for these documents.
- Assist the marketing area in developing sales support material appropriate for the product set including the preparation of fact sheets.
- Act as product representative on all quarter and year end projects for both super and investment.
- Maintain the existing product set to legal, industry and competitor standards, including initiating and project managing feature and administrative enhancements as required. This includes providing support in drafting of board approval papers for enhancements to existing funds and product development for new funds.
- Maintain a high level of technical knowledge on product and understand the profitability and structure of the product set. This includes ongoing tracking and communication of product performance.
- Develop and maintain contact with the sales team and advisers and provide product support as required. Understand the composition of the customer/adviser segments for the products.
- Produce competitor analysis and market share reports for the product range as required.
Knowledge and experience
- An understanding of the legislative/technical rules concerning managed investment schemes and superannuation.
- A particular technical understanding and experience in the funds management industry.
- An understanding of the financial services industry, including the role of financial planners.
- Excellent time management and communication skills.
- Existing financial services experience in a product role in a funds management business.
- Investment experience and experience in managing unit trusts is critical.
- A tertiary qualification preferably in Marketing or Economics is desirable.
- Knowledge in MS Outlook, Word, Powerpoint and strong Excel skills
