Product Manager II - Global DES

PRIMARY JOB FUNCTION:
Responsible for the development of specific marketing plans and activities for specific product(s)/project(s)/product line(s) to establish, enhance or distinguish placement within the competitive arena. Activities may include tactics, tools, logistics, campaigns, basic messaging and positioning. Develops business plans and product positioning in the marketplace. Oversees market research, monitors competitive activity, and identifies customer needs. Establishes pricing strategies. Leads cross-functional teams/groups, (i.e., launch teams); to develop new products or enhance existing product(s) or product line(s).

CORE JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Responsible for compliance with applicable Corporate and Divisional Policies and procedures.

• Designs strategies and priorities to maximize the business impact of product lines/projects by collaborating/leading cross-functional teams, conducting market research, understanding and performing financial analyses and defining customer needs
• Proposes the allocation of resources to assist in managing products' life cycle from concept through retirement by assessing needs and objectives. May manage a project budget with oversight.
• Ensures projects are consistent with product line strategy and messaging is effectively conveyed.
• Develops recommendations on appropriate prices for new products and on pricing and positioning strategies.
• Represents the company on accompanied visits to accounts in order to solicit feedback on company products and services.
• Understands project timeline and makes recommendations based on risk analysis when project is off-course.
• Thorough understanding for AV business.

POSITION ACCOUNTABILITY / SCOPE:
Individual contributor, reports to Marketing Manager. Manages single small brand or multiple smaller brands, or specific roles on a large brand. Has PL and budget responsibility. Leads small projects, may lead large projects. Has a solid understanding of concepts and has applied them with a good deal of effectiveness. Functions fairly independently, only needing to go to others for guidance or direction.

Understands business environment and relates extensive knowledge of internal and external activities to trends. Interfaces with a variety of management levels on significant matters, often requiring the coordination of activity across organizational units. Provides technical leadership to business units. Acts as a mentor to less-experienced staff. Exercises judgment independently. Plans and organizes project assignments of substantial variety and complexity. Initiates or maintains schedule for projects and project milestones. Establishes priorities of individual or project assignments. Selects methods and techniques to lead a project to completion.

Basic Qualifications:
A minimum of 4 years brand management or related experience required. Comprehensive knowledge and application business concepts, procedures and practices. Uses in-depth knowledge of business unit functions and cross group dependencies/ relationships. Is recognized as an expert in work group. Will perform this job in a quality system environment. Failure to adequately perform tasks can result in noncompliance with governmental regulations. Works on complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors. Exercises judgment within broadly defined practices and policies in selecting methods, techniques and evaluation criteria for obtaining results.

Preferred Qualifications:
• Strong Marketing Experience
• Medical and/or Biotech Experience, Pharma experience
• Clinical savvy, ideally with some coronary clinical exposure
• Cross-functional experiences (either experience in multiple disciplines and/or project leadership experience involving different functional activities)
• Strong teamwork and collaboration experience
• Interventional Cardiology and/or Cath Lab Experience a strong plus
