Product Manager (Inverters) Job in Phoenix 85003, Arizona US
Duties
· Performs primary market research and competitive analysis, and utilizes secondary research to define market requirements.
· Defines new products based on market requirements.
· Works with other disciplines on specific products from initial concept into volume production.
· Makes strategic recommendations during product planning stages.
· Defines and approves pricing for new products and custom programs.
· Defines costs for custom and new product proposals for target market.
· Forecasts custom and new product revenue by customer and market segment.
· Provides technical and tactical business support to sales and customers on a product line basis.
· Acts as the factory liaison for new product introductions and sales; coordinates advertising, field and press announcements, and field training.
· Identifies new markets/customers for existing products.
· Forecasts standard and modified products by product line, if applicable.
· Compiles/maintains proposal packages.
· Qualifies RFQ’s (Requests for Quotation).
· Defines and approves pricing for existing products per sign off procedure.
· Creates/maintains product specification/application sheets for new and modified products.
· Assists in compiling information for the annual product catalog revision.
· Prepares technical electronics training and corporate presentation materials.
· Prepares technical articles for electronics industry publications; edits press releases.
Requirements
· 5+ years experience in an electronics manufacturing environment, with 5+ years in power supplies. 2 – 5 years of sales experience, and 2 - 5 years of marketing experience
· In-depth knowledge of the power supply market
· Ability to understand power supply technology
· Possesses excellent analytical skills; has used various forecasting techniques and performed competitive analyses
· Excellent interpersonal skills. This position interfaces with a variety of personalities and levels of management, and disciplines.
· Experienced in establishing pricing; has calculated price curves.
· Computer-literate in the use of databases and spreadsheets
· Possesses excellent presentation and writing skills
· Has developed and presented sales training programs
· Travel is required.
· Ideal career path would be: Engineering, then Field Sales or Applications, then Marketing
· BSEE degree and/or MBA degree preferred
· Ability to write a formal Marketing Plan
