Product Manager Job in Alpharetta 30022, Georgia US
Job Summary:
Manage multiple WhatsUp Log Management product lines including expansion into new product areas. The job requires a balance of technology, business and leadership to help guide the product portfolio into the next generation of IT Management solutions. Applicants must be comfortable with frequent multi-tasking between technical, strategic, marketing and planning activities. Under the direction of the VP of Product Management this position will work in close partnership with Development, Marketing, Support and Services, Inside and Channel Sales and Executive Management. The Product Manager will provide product line direction, vision and define the requirements for new products that meet market needs.
Responsibilities and Essential Duties:
· Develop product strategies to increase product line demand, revenue and profitability.
· Develop detailed and actionable user stories and technical requirements for new products, features, functionality and services.
· Work closely with Product Development during the development cycle to make sure that product requirements are understood and met by the product release.
· Lead the product introduction team during the new product launch process
· Key areas of responsibility include:
o Research, document and validate product strategy based on feedback from the broader market, key customers, customer forums, usability panels and competition.
o Function as a product line evangelist who is an expert on product features, functionality and benefits and communicates the product value both internally and externally.
o Contribute to and create and maintain product roadmap
o Contribute to product positioning and business partnership efforts and in managing strategic vendors/partners
o Lead product pricing, licensing, and packaging
o Analyze product markets including target segments, competitive analysis, and industry trends
o Participate in and contribute to usability testing and forums
o Frequent travel (25%)
Education and/or Experience:
· 5+ years of software product management experience with proven track record of delivering market driven and profitable commercial products in the Log Management, Security or SIEM sectors
· 10+ years software product experience including software product management, development or expert end user experience
· Subject matter expertise in security and event log management or SIEM sectors
· Experience in or technical certifications held in Microsoft Windows network administration and/or related technologies preferred
· Strategic product planning and go-to-market skills
· Excellent communication skills, both public and private, in written and spoken forums
· Familiarity with Agile Scrum driven development process preferred
· Additional consideration for having other Industry certifications in the sector
