Overview:
The TripIt team has built a service unlike any that have come before it in the online travel space. Now it's time to take it to the next level, and to do that we need you. The Product Manager is responsible for defining and launching innovative new products and features for the TripIt platforms. We’re looking for someone who is passionate about solving consumer problems and driven to design exceptional consumer experiences.
We’re a small team, so flexibility and a can-do attitude are essential. To succeed, you will be someone with a strong sense of ownership for your work and take pride in good design. You should be a creative thinker who can combine imagination, past experience, and traditional analytics to support your ideas. And most importantly, you should be skilled at transforming those ideas into clear and complete functional specifications.
Finally, you should be able to measure and interpret the business results of your work. Experience in typical performance metrics of online consumer business is strongly preferred. Oh, and it helps if you are interested in travel.
This position reports to the Manager of Product Management.
Responsibilities:
- Define project requirements
- Gather and help clarify the full set of business and key stakeholder requirements
- Work with our UI design team to identify creative and innovative solutions to accomplish business objectives
- Identify the complete set of use cases required to ensure a seamless user experience
- Work with our engineering team to identify the back-end changes required to implement the desired functionality
- Complete functional design documentation that specifies in detail, the full set of front-end and back-end requirements
- Lead functional design review sessions
- Support project development and implementation
- Perform user acceptance testing during development and implementation
- Provide testing support during release evenings
- Resolve issues jeopardizing project timeline
- Measure project results
- Identify and measure key performance metrics (user growth, conversion, revenue, repeat rate, churn, etc.)
- Collect and aggregate user feedback
- Perform ad hoc issue analysis
- Document, report, and prioritize bug fixes
Position Requirements:
Qualifications:
- At least 3 years prior product management or business analyst experience with online consumer software
- Demonstrated ability to drive the entire product lifecycle, from conception to launch and post-launch evaluation and improvement
- Experience observing and evaluating consumer experience
- Skilled in collecting and responding to input from multiple sources (users, testers, engineering, competitive products, management, etc.)
- Familiarity with metrics for online consumer businesses (user acquisition, clickstream analysis, marketing spend, consumer lifecycle, etc.)
- Ability to communicate effectively with a broad spectrum of colleagues, from graphic designers to software engineers
- Must be highly organized, even in a rapidly evolving environment
- Ability to pass a background check
