PRODUCT MANAGER

 

Product Manager can be located in Vancouver, WA; Rochester, NY; Denver, CO (or near any major airport)

 

The Product Manager is responsible for the product lifecycle of assigned products. The Product Manager will provide product direction through an ongoing assessment of current offerings, pricing, and positioning. The Product Manager will systematically develop and evaluate opportunities for new products and/or line extensions and identify new target markets and related strategies. This person will work in a matrix organization to create, evaluate and implement new product initiatives and enhancements and process improvements.

Responsibilities:

·         Manage a product lifecycle. Develop, execute, and maintain product and product family business plan that provides current market information, including sales and gross profit margin history, year-to-date (YTD) actual and projections, key market positioning, sales channel and competitive strategies, pricing, market share, product life cycle plans, and evolution plans.

·         Coordinate with Product Marketing to identify competitive targets for research, assisting in research when necessary. Maintain SWOT analysis relative to competition, relative positioning, and pricing. Utilize this data to promote product segment growth and increase market share.

·         Establish product line direction for existing products develop product line extension and additional target markets - maintain a product and market roadmap

·         Regularly track revenue and margin and design, propose and execute methods to increase both through interaction with departments across the organization. Initiate measures of product cost optimization through due diligence with Engineering, Operations and Support.

·         Create product requirements documentation and develop business cases/plans for new product initiatives. Coordinate with multiple departments to refine the product requirements and business model as the product development cycle progresses. Work interdepartmentally with the help of the EPMO to execute product development cycle for new products

·         Provide product training to the organization as required in addition to providing input into the training department; act as the product subject matter expert for the organization

·         Project manage initiatives which do not have an EPMO component

Qualifications:

·         Bachelors Degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Technology or equivalent work experience

·         5-7 Years of Experience in Business to business product management or marketing; telecom or security experience highly preferred

·         Demonstrable expert use of business applications including word processing, spreadsheets, presentation and email software

·         Excellent verbal and written communication, presentation, organization and time management skills

·         Project management software expertise preferred

·         Experience in packaging and bundling business to business product offerings preferred

·         Demonstrated persuasive, creative, timely and effective problem solving skills
