Product Manager, Multimedia Centre recruitment

We are adding a Product Manager to our Multimedia Centre and Communications Platform team. Thomson Reuters' Multimedia business provides webcasting and online communications platform to over 5,000 enterprise clients across the Americas, EMEA and Asia Pacific and is rapidly growing.
The Product Manager, Multimedia Solutions will play a key role in driving innovation in online communication markets. The Product Manager must enjoy spending time in the market to understand customer needs, and help find innovative solutions for the target market. The product manager would also help define partnerships with internal and external partners to build vertical propositions for external communications/marketing clients in order to accelerate growth. The product manager would also take the lead in creating an open platform that can integrate with client systems. Through market and customer insights as well as industry experience, the Product Manager will help improve Thomson Reuters multimedia/communication offerings by increasing penetration/share, usage levels and engagement rates.
Responsibilities and accountabilities:
- Conduct competitive benchmarking.
- Define product user personas, user requirements, and usability improvements. Visit customers in the field as often as possible to assess needs and priorities and to gather, collate, and present customer feedback/voice of the customer on our existing and new products.
- Leverage customer research and other data to make a case for new features.
- End-to-end responsibility for feature/function prioritization, business requirements and/or functional specification definition for a significant portion of a proposition, or owned products/shared services. May be required to create technical specifications.
- Work closely with cross-functional development, business analysts, quality assurance, content, product and commercial resources in order to ensure on-time, in-scope delivery.
- Manage product launches, version releases. Post launch, prioritize defects, measure and support client service impact, measure and track product performance metrics and manage maintenance.
- Support definition and communication of features and benefits/key selling points and competitive positioning to key stakeholders including commercial managers, sales/account managers and support teams. Write product solution whitepapers.
- Support commercial facing teams in client engagement and retention activities.
- Leverage our multimedia solutions to provide regular product updates to key stakeholders.
- Monitor key performance indicators, report on health of a given product against goals, and make recommendations for improvements.
- Integrate with other Thomson Reuters products (working with fellow product managers, project managers, developers, etc.).
This position can be based in Boston, MA or New York City.
Skills
Qualifications
- 3+ years of experience in internet-based product development roles
- Ability to understand and apply technology to product development
- Familiarity with online display and video ad platforms would be useful
- Software/product lifecycle management experience
- Ability to drive a direct and indirect team to execute product strategy
- Ability to understand and interpret customer needs and fundamental workings and trends with a target industry
- Negotiation, complex problem solving, conflict management
- Strong verbal and written communication
- Ability to break down complex concepts in a clear and concise manner to champion opportunity with team members and leadership
- Bachelor's degree
