Major Purpose of Job:
As a Product Specialist focusing on communication tools, the incumbent must be able to penetrate accounts to generate new business opportunities by selling value-added consultative services to both public and private entities. Areas of focus include Public Relations, Corporate Communications, Marketing, Pressroom websites and social media sites.
Essential Job Functions:
The Product Specialist will effectively manage a territory and sell value-added services to accounts.
- Establish and maintain relationships with senior officers (Public Relations, Corporate Communication, Marketing).
- Consult, advise, position and sell value added marketing and PR software
- Demonstrate business solutions products and services through face-to-face presentations and phone conversation; become the technical subject matter expert for products
- Able to effectively negotiate contract/pricing terms.
- Responsible for quarterly Sales targets and pipeline management. Meet and exceed sales objectives.
- Attend and organize professional meetings, seminars, and industry conferences to improve knowledge and strengthen relationships.
Education/Experience Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 3-5 years sales experience specifically demonstrating and selling software products
- Excellent communication skills
- Strong demonstration skills
- Experience building new business through prospecting
- Must be able to work in a team environment
- SaaS, Web-based, on demand software experience and knowledge
- Public Relations software sales experience a plus
