Product Manager Transfer Agency recruitment

The Product Manager, Transfer Agency, is a member of the global product management function for the Transfer Agency product. Hence a detailed and thorough understanding of  Transfer Agency services is a vital pre-requisite for the role, a long-standing and broad as well as global industry expertise and an excellent understanding of processes related to Transfer Agency. 

Specific responsibilities include from a product perspective the ability to create and manage documentation linked to product evolution as well as of the Global Target Operating Model supported by procedures,, work flows and training material to ensure efficient implementation of product changes.

Experienced in business re-engineering programmes supporting efficiency and automation initiatives would be advantageousto the Transfer Agency product are delivered to meet the evolving needs of the business, to time and on budget.

The ability of the job holder to work effectively in a multi-cultural multi lingual global team and in partnership with the global entities in the business is a key success factor.

This senior role will be a global key interface between business, support change and IT resources.

The successful candidate will be expected to travel extensively.

 Key Accountabilities

Product Strategy

• Providetraining for the work flows designed to support the Global TA Operating Model.

• Preparation and delivery of documentation and presentation material for internal and external audience.

• Ownership of the TA global training program for business locations and CoE resources linked to the global processes.

• Work with the CoE teams to establish a process in order to evolve and enhance the global operating model recommending changes and documenting benefits.

• Chair and coordinate assigned Committee and Project meetings.

• Recommend and develop structured KPI and MI data linked to the global processes.

Business Changes

• Lead work streams in the development of the Global Operating Model.

• Establish and maintain relationships with vendors, industry work groups and consultants to identify and make recommendations on best practice.

• Work actively on product evolution and client focused presentation material.

• Keep abreast of market and regulatory changes and provide suggestions for changes in global operating model.

• Provide thought leadership both internally and externally through promotion of best practices, presentation of TA product road map and developing consistency of processing across business locations.

Business Applications

• Present and participate in Industry and Client focused events linked to business standardisation.

• Demonstrate a good overview of the core TA platforms used by HSS and how these integrate to other modules within the TA systems architecture.

• Work closely with HSS Product Change Support and IT to develop best of breed processing models.

Business Management

• Lead documentation of business requirements with applicable benefit justification to support system enhancements.

• Manage, propose changes and obtain approval for changes to the HSBC Functional Instructional and Standards Manual (FIM/GSM)

People Management

• Identify and mentor resources within the Business and CoE structure.

• Develop an infrastructure for sharing of best practice, ideas and knowledge within Transfer Agency.

• Ensure all business areas are provided with the tools and knowledge to support adapting to change with a positive and constructive approach.

Knowledge Experience / Qualifications (For the role – not the role holder)

•           Extensive experience in the securities market and associated market infrastructure

•           Demonstrate a solid understanding and an in-depth knowledge of Transfer Agency services as well as Distribution Platforms and channels

•           Demonstrates a thorough understanding of the fund industry and in particular Transfer Agency

•           Well developed interpersonal, collaborative, negotiation and relationship building skills

•           Excellent written, verbal communication and presentation skills and be able to work effectively with senior business and stakeholders across business divisions and geographies

•           Strong team player and people motivator
