Product Manager, VP recruitment

The VP, IMS Product Management is responsible for both product planning and product marketing throughout the product lifecycle. This includes partnering with Global Markets, Global (corporate) Product Management and other SSC BU's where appropriate. It also includes working with IMS sales and client services, marketing, client onboarding and IT personnel to identify product/servicing requirements and priorities, and ensure financial, client satisfaction, time-to-market goals are met. Specific job responsibilities:
•Defines the product strategy and roadmap/releases across the product lifecycle
•Partners with other organizations within SSC to leverage their product capabilities and integrate offerings where appropriate
•Participates in business strategy sessions with IMS leadership to ensure client and marketplace needs are being met
•Develops market and product requirements documents with prioritized features and corresponding justification
•Works with the IMS IT and Onboarding teams to provide guidance on product development and servicing
•Develops launch plans for new products and significant product upgrades
•Works with external third parties to assess partnerships and licensing opportunities
•Evaluates client requirements, competitive offerings, market trends, and regulatory changes
•Develops product positioning and messaging
•Sets pricing to meet market requirements and internal revenue/profitability goals
•Pursues opportunities to increase service delivery efficiency
•Proposes an overall budget to ensure success and provides periodic revenue forecasts
•Develops sales tools and collateral
•Briefs/trains sales and client services staff
•Briefs prospects, clients, consultants, and media on SSC value proposition, current and future product capabilities; conducts demos as appropriate
•Identifies appropriate path forward for clients using non-strategic (older) products, i.e., product rationalization potential
Focus of job is to provide strategic direction and tactical execution for a product or multiple product. Motivates and influences staff across all levels within the organization. Is simultaneously product, market, and customer focused.
Skills
•MBA or equivalent experience is required.
•10 plus years experience in financial services or high tech is required, with at least 5 years of experience in a product manager role.
•Must be equally comfortable providing strategic point-of-view on market and product requirements and leading tactical product management efforts
•Strong leadership and communication skills are required.
•Sales and marketing background in high tech or financial services is desired.
•Strong negotiation, sales and consensus building skills are required.
•Proven ability to achieve success within a matrixed organization is highly desired
Proven ability to influence senior management within SSC and at customer sites.
