The role: Product Manager, YT Video Monetization, Ads Quality At Google, we put our users first. From innovative software products like Gmail, YouTube, Chrome, StreetView to pioneering mobile devices like the Android, we build products that organize the world's information and make it universally accessible to our users. Google products are the lifeblood of who we are. The Product Management team works closely with our engineers to guide products from conception to launch, and with our business partners to generate profitable revenue streams. As part of the Product Management team, you bridge technical and business worlds as you design technologies with creative and prolific engineers and then zoom out to lead matrix teams such as Sales, Marketing and Finance, to name a few. You have a bias for action and can break down complex problems into steps that drive product development at Google speed. As a Product Manager, you can be part of shaping Google's next game-changer. YouTube Monetization is one of the fastest growing businesses at Google. Weave built up some great momentum and are growing the product team to help us take it to the next level. In this role, you will be responsible for our video ads quality efforts. Video advertising is a rapidly evolving space and choosing the right ad to show is both a unique challenge and a huge opportunity. Our ads systems were designed for matching ads to search queries and crawled webpages, while the worlds of video and YouTube offer much richer signals for selecting ads users want. The Video Ads Quality team is tasked with incorporating all these signals to actually choose ads users want, and we need someone to lead these efforts. Additionally, you will help develop systems that predict viewer acceptance of various ad formats at various times, and optimize when we show ads. Youall need deep consumer insights and a desire to solve hard analytical and computer science problems. Many of our largest revenue increases at YouTube have come from improvements in ads quality and you will be responsible for accelerating that pace. Responsibilities: * Owning the roadmap for video ads quality, including: Developing new prediction models for our next generation TrueView formats, incorporating richer signals about our users into ad selection, incorporating data about how video ads perform organically on YouTube into ad selection, optimizing ad systems to drive more conversions for advertisers, defining success metrics for quality launches, driving analysis of untapped opportunity in the ads quality space. * Working with a team of 14-16 engineers in San Bruno, Santa Monica and Zurich. * Work with corresponding buying, formats and inventory teams to support launches of new formats, advertiser targeting and incorporating quality signals. * Launching and optimizing our ad decisioning engine to make smarter decisions about when to show ads. Minimum Qualifications: * BA/BS in Computer Science or a related technical field (In lieu of degree, 4 years of relevant experience). * 3+ years of relevant experience with online technology, ecommerce or media company. Preferred Qualifications: * MBA, MS or Ph.D. * Knowledgeable across many functional areas: product management, sales, eng, UI, marketing. * Knowledge of Adwords. * Comfortable with direct customer contact. * Interest in working on problems that don't have an obvious solution. * Entrepreneurial drive, demonstrated ability to achieve stretch goals in an innovative and fast paced environment. Able to fit well within an informal startup environment.
