Product Marketing Manager Role
Job description
The purpose of this new role is to develop and implement high quality product marketing plans, to improve the company’s product collateral overall.
The role will involve digital marketing, internal communications, editorial and advertising, event organisation - with support from the communications coordinator and an executive assistant.
The company is a world leading technology solutions provider with a team of nearly 500 in London. They operate in a dynamic and fast paced environment, and the successful candidate will be working with senior C Level management as well as high profile clients. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a wide, varying role reporting directly to senior management. There is also a very social side to the business and you will be required to attend various events around the world.
Responsibilities – primary focus of this role:
· Manage product promotion process and improve product marketing collateral
· Drive more integrated sales / marketing campaigns, coordinating product promotion activity with product management, sales and content teams
· Update / create product marketing collateral and execute targeted and innovative promotions to engage with the company’s target market, in collaboration with the sales team
· Work on messaging and content creation (online and offline) for existing and new products
· Devise and manage direct marketing campaigns with sales team (e-shots, VIP mailers)
· Measure effectiveness of campaigns and collateral
· Develop proactive relationships with customer marketing contacts to maximise opportunities with games on customer sites; leverage customer marketing spend / affiliate marketing as much as possible
· Responsible for games package releases and driving marketing campaigns on key games
· Manage gaming digital assets and their distribution (liaising with content / delivery team)
· Devise and own the marketing / sales contact database
» Manage websites and SEO (managing Communications Coordinator in support role to help upload content, site testing and using the CMS to keep site refreshed and up-to-date)
» Drive website re-launch for games and on-going management with customer / partners
» Coordinate marketing activity across digital platforms (Facebook, YouTube Twitter, etc)
» Monitor presence online in general – mentions, profiles, chat sites
» Contribute to new intranet project on behalf of the Communications department
» Work with the communications coordinator on other internal comms projects to improve employee communication and engagement (monthly company presentations, new starter sessions, staff and CEO QA meetings)
» Continue recruitment collateral project, as the company continues to grow
» Compile and issue press releases, managing contributions from product and sales teams, customers, PR and VP of Communications
» Coordinate editorial for trade press, with input from internal and external sources
» Arrange photo shoots as required, to boost company’s photo library for collateral
» Work with designers on digital assets, storyboarding and overseeing production of collateral required to support sales, product, content, recruitment teams
» Organise company events twice yearly
» Organise production of key customer case studies, as appropriate
» Manage the department’s budget along with VP of Communications
» Communicate with the business re key developments following implementation of Google Apps (advising re use of mail groups and policy; assembling tips and tricks)
» Supervise the communications coordinator
1.1 Person specification
Applicants will ideally work in technology product marketing with strong marketing and planning skills.
Skills - the candidate must have:
» Bachelor’s degree (2:1 or above) in marketing, business, technology or related discipline
» Fluency in English; excellent communication skills, both written and spoken
» Ability to work closely and successfully with external and internal customers
» Strong presentation skills; advanced PowerPoint
» Ability to learn and adapt quickly in a growing business
» Strong relationship management skills; possess the credibility to influence at senior level
» Demonstrable organisation skills, good attention to detail
» Strong writing and editing skills
» Good eye for design / visuals
» Highly competent IT skills (MS Office, email, web search, etc)
» Enthusiastic, hands-on, can-do approach, willing to help where required
Experience - the candidate will have:
» Minimum 5 years’ marketing experience, including some time in a similar role
» Experience of working within a fast-paced, dynamically changing technology company
» Basic understanding of social media, SEO and search engines
» Produced marketing collateral (online or offline) to a high standard
» Delivered successfully multiple projects to time and to budget
