Product & Market Research Analyst

Reporting to the Head of Business Product Development, this position develops market insight and analysis to assist in the identification of commercial opportunities for the development and distribution of the firm’s products and services.  This is a broad-ranging role, which requires a commercially-minded and naturally inquisitive person capable of producing quantifiable data to help inform and validate the senior level decision-making.

High degrees of numeracy and proficient quantitative data skills are important, combined with the ability to detect major themes that arise from the underlying data and communicate these to the Head of Business Development.  The role will assist in the assessment of new market, product and distribution opportunities for the company’s institutional and mutual fund ranges, as well as identifying business development opportunities.  It will provide analysis and industry benchmarking of the firm’s funds, products and services, including positioning against key competitors.

This role sits alongside Product, and works closely with Sales Client Services, however it requires someone who has the capability to deliver projects in a relatively autonomous manner.

Furthermore, it supports the Head of Product Development with the reporting, monitoring and communication of product development activity and decisions.  The role will also help to undertake post-launch Product reviews to ensure delivery is in accordance with approved objectives and that investment and market viability remains valid.  It will provide analysis and information which can assist in the technical design of funds and the evolution of the fund ranges.  Therefore, a working knowledge of regulatory conditions in which funds are located and distributed is desirable.

This role will also act as the contact for data providers (e.g. Bloomberg, Lipper, FT, Morningstar, etc.) and oversee process for updating data providers of fund launches, deletions and changes.  It will also ensure that the research and analysis process for identifying and assessing new market opportunities continues to evolve to maximise the quality of insight.
