The Decision Support Team within Encompass Product Operations (Allstate?s Independent Agency Channel) provides data management services that help inform decisions regarding products, pricing, and agency management. The Product Operations Data Analyst/Consultant will play a key role on this team by executing a comprehensive data strategy, ensuring data quality, maintaining easy access to data, and working with customers to ensure our data needs are met throughout the organization.
· Proven experience with large scale data management, quality assurance and data flow
· Proven ability to manipulate and manage data through the use of Excel, Access, SAS, SQL and/or Oracle; Business Objects reporting experience is considered a plus
· Experience developing reporting tools and/or dashboards to deliver relevant insight
· Ability to work with end users of data to define requirements, discuss pros and cons of various approaches, and deliver clear solutions to team members
· Ability to work with IT groups to advocate on customers? behalf
· Advanced and innovative problem-solving skills and analytic ability
· Solid experience in time and task management
· Strong customer service orientation that places high value on customer satisfaction
· Developing skills in project management
· Strong written and verbal communication skills including the ability to effectively collaborate with multi-disciplinary groups and all organizational levels
· Bachelor's degree in Math, Statistics, Finance or Computer Science (or a related field)
· Minimum 2 - 4 years experience in data management, finance or analytics
· Knowledge of the insurance industry is preferred.
· Proficient in Microsoft based applications such as Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint; VBA considered a plus, SQL and/or Oracle experience a plus.
