Product Specialist - Valves

Job Summary:
Three Product Specialist opportunities available for our High Pressure Pilot, Yarway, and 80-series product lines.  The product specialist role will be responsible for providing product technical support to field sales personnel and end-use customers. Technical support may be inclusive of, but not limited to product technical seminars, field site visits to determine applicability of a given technology to a particular application and product training seminars to field sales personnel.
 
 
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
Ø  Recommend products to customers, based on customer's specific needs and interests.
Ø  Analyze customers' process data and functional requirements to specify valve and/or automation packages.
Ø  Apply knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards to customer specifications and answer technical questions based on those standards and ensure that products specified are in compliance.
Ø  Develop pricing for configured products manufactured from Tyco and non-
Tyco components.
Ø  Answer technical questions about products, prices, durability.
Ø  Negotiate terms and conditions with customers based on guidelines established by management.
Ø  Meet with customers to demonstrate and explain features of products and train customers in the use of the product. 
Ø  Estimate delivery dates and arrange delivery schedules.
Ø  Investigate and resolve customer complaints.
Ø  Obtain credit information on prospective customers.
Ø  Review purchase orders for accuracy.
Ø  Provide support to outside sales representatives.
Ø  Prepare technical commercial quotations.
Ø  Act as liaison between customer and manufacturing entity for unique products and applications.
 

REQUIREMENTS:
·         Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Technical discipline
·         Minimum four to six years experience in product analysis and technical quoting and pricing. Knowledge of valves, actuators, and controls preferred.
·         Knowledge of principles and methods for showing, promoting, and selling products or services, including marketing strategy and tactics, product demonstration, sales techniques, and sales control systems preferred
·         Excellent customer focus skills including interpersonal and communication skills are vital for this role.
·         Listening and conflict management skills.
·         Good organizational skills and problem solving abilities.
·         Strong computer skills, ability to work with detail, and solid math skills.
