Astro-Med, Inc. is a leading manufacturer of high tech specialty printing systems, electronic medical instrumentation, and test and measurement instruments.
We currently have an opening for a Product Specialist our QuickLabel Systems Sales Department.
Position:
The Product Specialist will assist the Product Manager with the daily business, application support, and documentation functions in the product management group by performing the duties listed below. Additionally, the candidate will assist the Product Manager in organizing and maintaining the product line throughout its lifecycle to optimize corporate growth objectives
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Provide high-level hardware and software application support for worldwide field sales force and end-user customers.
· Advises and trains Technical Support Specialists and serves as intermediary between customer support and engineering/product development. Escalates customer second-tier support issues to management and engineering for resolution.
· Provides high-level technical product training and application support (in-house or on-site) to end users in key product deployments, such as OEM accounts.
· Identifies and attempts to duplicate software issues on internal alpha releases or customer reported issues. Maintains database of verified issues and feature requests. Generates reports and makes recommendations regarding product enhancements.
· Develops training programs and authors technical bulletins, application notes, product guides and to support the sales force, technical support and the product line.
· Conducts competitive product testing, analyzes results and reports to management on product strengths/weaknesses.
· Travels to assist field sales personnel in on-site demonstrations, participates in trade shows and conducts beta-site evaluation, providing technical guidance and support in these key installations.
· Maintains published product specifications and replacement parts ensuring accurate and consistent content across the product line. Assists the sales force where required in qualifying the correct product for a new application.
· Trains new sales and technical support staff on the product line.
· Maintains product documentation according to corporate guidelines. Tracks and periodically submits Engineering Change Requests (ECR) and Engineering Change Orders (ECO) as required.
· Monitors product-related content on Corporate Intranet and Websites to ensure accurate and up-to-date information.
· Administers and tracks field beta testing programs collecting customer feedback and managing field upgrades.
· Reviews product user documentation for content and accuracy.
· Performs other duties as assigned to maintain the product line and launch new products.
REQUIREMENTS:
Motivated, organized and independent self-starter with proven time-management and project management capabilities. Superior written and oral communication skills. High level of business ethics. Strong computer skills including Windows operating system. Experienced with Microsoft Office. Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite or other graphic design software strongly desired. Basic programming and networking skill is preferred.
Up to 10%. Evening or weekend hours may be required.
