Product Specialist recruitment

ClearBridge Advisors is looking for a Product Specialist to continue to grow and develop business in the platform marketplace. This would involve becoming a detailed expert in articulating the strategy of the overall firm, specific investment strategies, as well as become a key driver in optimizing and growing the product capabilities for the firm.
Key Responsibilities and Duties Include, but not limited to:
PRODUCT SPECIALIST DUTIES (Comprises 60-75% of the role, of which 30-50% will be externally client facing);
- Conduct a range of client facing investment roles, from firm updates to initial product introductions, up to and including finals presentations and ongoing client service for Clearbridge mutual funds and separate accounts.
- Maintain, support and grow existing strategic relationships in combination with Legg Mason for the following distribution channels at a platform level:
-Broker-dealers
-Wealth management firms
-Insurance/sub-advisory clients
-DCIO platforms
-Smaller consulting firms and institutional teams within broker-dealers - Work with both ClearBridge and Legg Mason employees to ensure best in class formal and informal communication of our investment products, including competitive positioning and analysis.
- Work with CBA and LM marketing to ensure institutionally oriented marketing materials are aligned for platform clients. Includes items like pitchbooks, RFP’s and whitepapers.
PRODUCT/BUSINESS STRATEGY DUTIES (Comprises about 25-40% of role)
- Responsible for working with head of financial intermediary team and investment team to lead development and enhancement of investment products
- Help develop a business scorecard for the financial intermediary group at ClearBridge
- Work with Legg Mason product team on ensuring products are appropriately and consistently positioned for further asset growth
Ideal Experience and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree a plus
- CFA preferred, CFA level II or greater required
- Licensed (Series 7)
- 10 years of relevant experience including experience as a client facing product specialist
- Strong teamwork and collaboration skills, with ability to work with both sales and investment personnel
- Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to influence
- Ability to travel extensively in role
- Aptitude to creatively address complex issues and problems and provide guidance to senior management
