Alexander Black Recruitment is looking for a product specialist to join a world leading financial technology provider based in the heart of London. My client provide portfolio and risk management software and boast a multi award winning trading system this is not a hands on technical role.
The role is split between sales, technical pre-sales / post-sales and account management whereby the person will be tasked with giving c-level presentations, providing quant support and giving post-sales. You would gain invaluable experience in multiple arms of the business, liaising with product managers, developers and implementation teams.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience in risk, VAR, Trading systems, Quant Analytics and cerifications such as Wilmott, FRM or CQF
Candidates MUST have:
- Strong university degree in Economics, Business, Finance or a quantitative discipline (e.g. Mathematics or Physics) – quantitative skills are essential for the role.
- At least 3 years of exposure to the financial services industry (particularly trading, portfolio management and/or Risk software).
- Broad understanding of trading strategies, investment strategies and financial products, including derivatives.
- Knowledge of Risk Management practices and metrics.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal – as appropriate for formal and international environments. Ability to articulate complex concepts fluently.
- Strong mathematical/quantitative skills (e.g. calculus and statistics).
- Strong problem-solving skills.
- Comfort working independently and within a team that includes diverse roles.
- Ability to work well with customers and to build relationships.
- Ability to understand product at an extremely in-depth level and to maintain understanding as product evolves.
- Understanding of, sensitivity to, and participation in the sales process – ability to be a “technical” team member in all aspects of the sales process, including articulating value and handling objections.
- Excellent presentation skills. Teaching / training / tutoring skills are a plus.
- Ability to work in highly dynamic sales environment.
- Strong IT skills – an element of programming experience would be a plus.
- Foreign languages not required but potentially seen as a plus.
