Product Support Engineer - Networking - Routers - Switches - SQL - Linux - SNMP
We are an Award-Winning, Growing, and Profitable start-up that is based in the beautiful and historic Greater Wilmington area. Because of our continued success year after year, and with increasing revenues and a growing team...we have an immediate opening for a Product Support Engineer to help support our growing roster of customers.
The Product Support Engineer is responsible for representing the Support Organization to our customers. The Product Support Engineer is responsible for assessing product support issues in accordance to best practices. Debugging and analysis is performed via the telephone as well as electronically. Successful candidates will possess excellent verbal and written communication skills, as well as a high degree of analytical and investigative skills.
Responsibilities:
- Provide accurate and efficient support to customers
- Confirm and report defects to development team
- Write technical documents for the Solutions Knowledge Base/Internal Wiki
- Assist with Internal IT Support and Quality Assurance needs
- Supporting new and existing client software installations over the phone as well as via WebEx (desktop sharing) within an established SLA
- Owning issues and seeing them through to resolution and customer satisfaction
- Applying OS,DB, hardware and product updates to customers
Support Skills:
- Previous experience supporting a B2B enterprise application for external clients
- Must be able to communicate clearly and work with customers (namely network engineers, network managers and server administrators)
- Must be able to independently see a project through to completion
- Must be able to communicate technical information clearly and precisely to customers of varying technical knowledge levels
Technical Skills
- Strong experience and knowledge of SNMP; Traps vs Polling, OIDs, etc.
- Ability to perform SNMP Device Certification to expand SNMP Polling capability
- Experience with SQL Databases; MySQL, MS-SQL, Oracle, etc.
- Experience with SQL queries; mainly select join syntax
- Strong proficiency with Linux OS; file and process management
- Experience with BASH shell scripting
