Overall Job Summary

Production Advertising Manager will manage Production Artists, Production Account Executives, Digital Asset Managers and Proofreaders as well as the workflow process for the team. Individual will be responsible for delegating tasks to other team members with intense follow up. Producing error-free, high-quality work is of the utmost importance.

 

Job Responsibilities

·         Plans for and uses resources efficiently, always looks for ways to reduce costs, creates accurate and realistic budgets, tracks and adjusts budgets, contributes to budget planning

·         Ability to think strategically, utilize problem solving, organization, and time management skills, make sound decisions, multi-task, and delegate effectively. Must possess a keen sense of urgency, excellent oral and written communication skills.

·         Manage employees (i.e. coaching, mentoring training, career-pathing, assigning work, disciplinary actions, yearly evaluations, pay increase recommendations, termination of employee recommendations, interviewing, hiring, transfers, promotions and leave request approvals). Obtains input from Account Supervisor and Assoc. Creative Director for account and creative staff

·         Provide solutions and implement new workflows to execute accurately and timely product. Ensure staff is reviewing data to ensure accuracy.

·         Assign and distribute workload to team members appropriately. Conduct regular staff and one-on-one meetings to review status of job and provide performance feedback.

·         Interface with client and external vendors to identify and resolve production related issues

·         Responsible for ensuring team project reports and performance data measurements are captured and distributed accordingly. Use the data to improve workflows, increase accuracy, etc.

·         Acts as a point person for troubleshooting problems.

·         Skilled in the use of computers, adapts to new technology, keeps abreast of changes, learns new programs quickly, uses computer to improve productivity.

·         Desktop Publishing software programs and spreadsheet software programs

·         Supervision may cover a single functional area.

·         Functional activities can range from simple to moderately complex.

·         Impact of decisions on daily operations is limited to having a moderate impact.

·         Coordinates, assigns, and provides leadership to and reviews the work of assigned staff.

·         Administers and assists with implementing policies and procedures that affect direct reports.

·         Assigns task and monitors daily operation for a work group according to established guidelines, procedure and policies.

·         Budgetary responsibilities typically limited to producing short-term results determined by more senior management.

·         Follows established practices and procedures to resolve routine problems.

·         Directly supervises the work of 6 or more staff members.

·         Provides input and may prepare performance reviews.

·         Participates in the interview process and provides hire/termination recommendations to management.

·         Provides feedback to managers regarding training needs and pay increase for staff.

 

Key Skills Competencies

·         Typically has a Bachelor's Degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

·         Previous experience as a team lead or senior level individual contributor.

·         Incumbent typically has 5-8 years experience within the advertising industry.

·         2-3 years prior supervisory experience.

·         Effective communication and client service skills.

·         Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects and tight deadlines.

·         Knowledge of strategic marketing, planning, and organizational and project tracking.

·         Effective negotiation and communication skills.

·         Knowledge of advertising planning, development and creative concepts.

·         Strong working knowledge of Microsoft, Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

·         Demonstrated record of previous marketing or advertising experience with a similar degree of comparable complexity.
