Production Associate – 6 month FTC recruitment

Platts is now looking for a Production Associate for a 6 month fixed term contract.
The Production Associate will manage the timely and accurate production of newsletters from layout to post-production.
Main Responsibilities:
Newsletter production and design
- Layout daily, weekly, bi-weekly and monthly newsletters working closely with the editor (s)
- Create relevant tables, graphics for newsletters using Adobe Illustrator
- Create printer and email ready files using Adobe Acrobat
- Create XML files of newsletters using iCPS software (where appropriate)
- Assist with updating relevant publication templates
- Troubleshooting layout problems
Web and Fulfillment checks
- Posts relevant electronic files to third-party vendors, distribution outlets and printers
- Confirms delivery of files with third parties and Fulfillment department
- Checks Platts websites to confirm upload of relevant files
- Assures the full contents of each publication is posted in the correct manner
Ad placement
- Ensures accurate placement of paid ads
- Checks ad links with the SMS team
- Ensures accurate placement of house ads
Documentation
- Keeps How To documents up to date on a timely basis
Other tasks
- Liaises with editorial, marketing, or sales, to organize and create collateral when necessary
- Works with Data Management to ensure that newsletter content has proper licensing agreements
- Layout of non-deadline driven special reports, white papers, methodologies where appropriate
Skills
- Graduate degree in a relevant field such as graphic design, communications, journalism, or extensive experience working in publishing industry
- Software skills: Expert user of desktop publishing and design tools; QuarkXPress, Adobe InDesign, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Acrobat, MS Word, MS Excel. Expert user of inhouse tech: PEN and XMetal
- Time management: Manages time efficiently to effectively coordinate multiple tasks in a high-stress journalism atmosphere. Ability to prioritize jobs and requests
- Good team working and organisational skills
