Job Description Job Classification: Contract Aerotek is currently in immediate need of a Production Associate. Term: Through April 27, but may be extended beyond this time on a week to week basis with 1 week advance notice by Client Work schedule: 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday, Sunday and three weekdays as agreed between the candidate and the Director of Manufacturing. Position description: This position is primarily responsible for the handling of cells in culture and for production of lentiviral vectors and virus-like particles. Proven track record developing and implementing manufacturing process of virus particles for gene therapy or vaccine production is desirable. Experience with adherent and suspension cell culture at various scales is preferable. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Core duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Supports the production of lentiviral vectors and virus-like particles using standard protocols Helps to setup, operate and optimize a fibrastage bioreactor Responsible for the proper maintenance of equipment Responsible to perform cleaning of equipment as required Works on projects of moderate scope in which analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Receives overall project direction. Restocks the labs by ordering essential lab materials. Performs other related duties as required. SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES: This job has no supervisory responsibilities. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor's degree (B. A.) from four-year college or university; three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
