Production / Chemical Operator Job in Somerset 08873, New Jersey US

This is a GREAT long term contract position with one of our Fortune 500 clients! This position is a Rotating, 1st 2nd Shift 8-12 hours
 
Job Description:
-Aid in all areas of membrane production including preparing polymer solution and casting of the membrane.
-Will add reactants to prepare the polymer and operate polymer casting equipment.
-Perform manufacturing process steps and operate production and testing equipment per the steps of Standard Operating Procedures as directed by the area production supervisor.
-Maintain all required records and make appropriate material transfer entries into Enterprise Resource Planning system.
-Monitor product quality at all stages to ensure compliance to specifications
-Set up for and conduct laboratory tests and procedures such as titration

Required:
-High School Diploma or GED with 6 months to 3 years experience working in a production/assembly or industrial manufacturing position; prefer experience working in shift operations.
-Must be able to work rotating 8-12 hour shifts
-Must be able to communicate well both verbally and written with all members of the site.
-Six months o fexperience working with hazardous materials
-Knowledge of chemical safety practices and labeling of materials
-Strong mechanical aptitude with the ability to assemble small pieces by hand and with various hand tools.
-Ability to work as a member of a high performance team.
-Previous experience in positions meeting established business goals or quotas.
-Experience following standard operating procedures (SOP s).
-Must be goal oriented with the personal drive to meet or exceed daily and weekly goals.
-Ability to multi-task while monitoring or controlling a number of different activities simultaneously.
-Basic math skills with the ability to use a calculator to compute percentages, square meter areas, multiply and divide.
-Ability to wear PPE as directed by the SOP which requires gloves, safety glasses and safety shoes.
-Basic knowledge of the MS Windows operating system with ability to use e-mail systems and interface with internet.
-Ability to safely lift up to 50 lbs.
-Familiarity with metric system.
-Flexibility and willingness to cross train in other job functions.

Desired:
-Able to use quality control equipment such as calipers, scales, hand held gages, and basic analytical equipment.
-Basic knowledge of chemistry.
-Experiencd working in ISO 9000 environment.
-Knowledge of basic quality tools such as root cause analysis, control charts, and fishbone diagrams.
-Formulation experience desirable
