SUMMARY:
The Production Control Supervisor (“PCS”) determines parameters to efficiently utilize inventory, staffing, vendor delivery schedules for on-time customer delivery. The PCS analyzes and manages inventories, including forecasting future inventory requirements based on Sales forecast. Expert Inventory management skills are required. The PCS maintains material inventories, production progress and other factors affecting deliverables. Requires working knowledge of kitting processes, capacity planning and production control procedures.
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Business MBA a plus
· 5-10 years’ experience in inventory management, planning or supporting logistics planning processes in an import distribution company.
· Ability to research and gather information related to suppliers, products, goods and services and organize the information in an understandable and logical manner
· Knowledge of relevant Bill of Material and kitting operations
· Knowledge of the storage and inventory guide lines of distribution
· Knowledge of parts kitting processes
· Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
· Mastery of Office Suite including MS Project
· Sage ACCPAC MRP software knowledge a plus
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
· Develop schedules and timelines for product shipments to customers, working with department managers to make necessary adjustments throughout the week to insure proper quantities are purchased, warehoused and shipped
· Kitting product for end user distribution
· Create and present schedules for weekly meetings and timely distribution to appropriate personnel
· Coordinates with purchasing and vendor manufacturer to meet customer requirements
· Communicates with appropriate employees to provide and coordinate critical information in order to achieve 100% on time delivery of customer goods
· Insures that products are prioritized for on time delivery and raw material is available as schedules are created
· Monitors current parts inventory, parts assemblies, updates production boards and insures that transportation time is considered in lead time for on-time delivery results
· Adjust quantity in physical inventory menu to reflect accurate physical quantity of product
· Communicates with customers in regards to complaints and follows through with quality department to insure timely resolutions
· Understands profit policies of the company and implements same in quoting activities
· Performs other duties as required by management
CRITICAL DEMANDS:
The Production Control Supervisor needs minimal supervision and is responsible for creating and meeting schedules for the means of on time product delivery. This position requires effective supplier relations skills in addition to a strong scheduling background for an import company in the electronics environment. The PCS must understand raw materials, parts assemblies, supplier timelines, and customer’s expectations. It is also essential that the Production Control Supervisor has the ability to work independently in a fast paced and changing environment.
