A minimum of 4-6 years of experience in Oracle Database production environment.
Will manage and perform standard maintenance, monitoring, and tuning of numerous Oracle production database instance. Has worked with Oracle 9i, 10G and 11g
- Support existing databases while assuring optimized performance, stability and uptime.
- Demonstrated experience in working on Root Cause Analysis for oracle database issues.
- Tune and trouble-shoot Oracle 10g and 11g databases.
- Troubleshoot Goldengate replication issues.
- Manage 11g RAC clusters using ASM
- Requires ability to perform on-call duty on a rotational and 24X7 basis.
- Assess databases to assist in troubleshooting and performance tuning
- Proven hands-on troubleshooting skills in a very busy environment.
- Expert level understanding of database internals.
- Expert level Database and SQL tuning skills with hands-on experience in large and very busy environments.
- Demonstrated experience with relational database performance tuning.
- Demonstrated problem solving abilities and initiative.
- Support 10g/11g upgrades from 9i and version 8.
- Strong Unix skills required, preferably Solaris and AIX flavors. Proven experience with command-line database tools (SQL*Plus, PL/SQL) and UNIX (Perl, Shell) required.
- Ability to provide reliable technical support and guidance on site issues in a high velocity and dynamic environment.
- Flexible, adaptable and able to manage multiple tasks in a dynamic environment.
- Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to peers and management.
- Expected to work well within a team and take ownership of on going responsibilities and RCAs.
- Minimum 7-9 years experience as Oracle DBA
- Minimum of 2 years experience with administering and supporting databases on 10g on AIX Platform.
- Strong knowledge of database performance tuning and troubleshooting.
- Excellent knowledge of Goldengate replication software.
- In-depth knowledge of database internals and data structures.
- Knowledge of SQL and PL/SQL
- 11g RAC/ASM
- Strong knowledge of Unix Shell and Perl languages. Working experience on Solaris and AIX is required.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Prior experience of working with NOC DBAs and offshore DBAs is required.
- Oracle patching, Oracle troubleshooting and communication with oracle support.
- Experience with oracle Standby databases
- Experience with OLTP and Batch processing database setup.
- Understanding of the Oracle Support engagement model.
