Production Engineer Job in Calgary, Alberta Canada
Our Oil Gas Client is seeking a Production Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Production Manager, the successful individual will be highly motivated who can work in a multi-disciplinary team.
Responsibilities Include:
- Coordinate and oversee all production and operational activities of heavy oil production and of shallow gas production
- Monitor and optimize field and well production to maximize recovery and profitability
- Familiarity with conventional bottom hole pumps and pump jacks as the primary means of artificial lift in the oil areas and plunger lifts as the primary means of artificial lift in the gas areas
- Familiarity with single well battery setups as the primary facilities in the heavy oil areas
- Familiarity with compression, dehydration, shallow cut refrigeration, and amine sweetening as the primary means of processing in the gas areas
- Management and cost control of all sponsored projects
- Interact with exploitation and geological staff to identify and implement new development opportunities
- Work closely with field staff supporting their day-to-day operations as well as being involved in formal project work, well reviews, and operating cost analysis
- Coordinate and oversee well workover and abandonment operations
- Support construction inspectors on all pipeline and facility construction activities
- Work effectively with the production accounting group to review actual production volumes vs. field estimates
- Support joint venture supervisor with third party fee reviews, and operating forecasts for join facilities
- Will be required to travel to field locations
Qualifications Include:
- B.Sc. in Engineering with five or more years of oil and gas experience or Engineering Technology with ten plus years oil and gas experience
- Sour gas experience
- Professional Engineer status recognized by APEGGA
- Familiarity with ERCB and OGC regulations
- Familiarity with working winter access only areas and the timelines associated with those areas
- Extensive computer knowledge, including Microsoft Office, PVR, AFE Navigator, Geoscout, and Qbyte
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
