Production Engineer

We have an exciting opportunity for a Production / Process Engineer to join a household brand in a key role. As a qualified Production Engineer you will work across two sites in Shropshire. The first site is a foundry environment and the successful candidate will need to be willing to focus in this area. The second site is a state of the art production facility to include a welding shop, press shop, enamel shop with equipment ranging from traditional manual to robotics and pneumatics. As part of the Production Engineering team you will ensure that all NPI and continuous improvement projects are achieved.

Key account abilities:

Work with teams and cross functional groups to identify and evaluate opportunities for process improvement.

Take a structured approach to problem solving to ensure continuous improvement projects are complete.

Support Production Managers to achieve their objectives by ensuring that production equipment and tooling is both available and capable.

Work as part of the production engineering team on NPI projects.

Work as part of the production engineering team on capital investment projects and factory layout moves.

Work across the business to implement 5s and kaizen to ensure culture is embedded.

Develop and maintain effective working relationships with Production and Maintenance teams.

Experience, skills and qualifications:

Engineering qualification
Production Engineering skills
Foundry background or willingness to work in this area.
Knowledge of metallurgy and sand technology or willing to focus in this area.
Excellent communication and IT skills
Self motivated and able to work unsupervised.
Understand quality environmental standards (ISO 9001, 14001, 18001)
