THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Production Engineer will be a key member of our team and contribute in the following ways:

  •  Provide preliminary scoping and design for proposed facility pipeline construction and upgrades, work with the Field Operations and Facilities teams to finalize these designs for assigned business area

  •  Participate in exploration activities by helping to organize an effective execution plan and liaise with applicable internal teams to determine and design new pipelines and facilities

  •  Work with other team members (Exploitation, Exploration, Land and Field Operations) to meet production and financial targets in area of responsibility

    POSITIONS AVAILABLE IN THE FOLLOWING AREAS:

  •  Central Alberta

    HOW WILL YOU MAKE YOUR MARK?

  •  Work with team to recommend optimum depletion strategies to maximize the company's assets

  •  Work closely with Field Operations to ensure that production is optimized and operating costs are within the company's targets

  •  Research, evaluate and recommend completion/work over candidates focusing on inactive wells to maximize the company's oil and natural gas production

  •  Work with team members to generate area production operating budgets

  •  Provide cost estimates for and approve AFEs and mail ballots for wells and facilities, check and approve related invoicing

  •  Liaise with Production Accounting, Financial Accounting, Marketing, Joint Ventures and Commercial Operations as required

  • These positions require regular travel to the field locations

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  •  Typically 3+ years of related industry experience with an Engineering Degree or candidates with a Diploma in Petroleum Engineering Technology and typically 5+ years of directly related experience may also be considered 

  •  Familiarity with and understanding of:
       o Surface and down hole production operations (oil and natural gas), water flooding, artificial lift methods, compression, property evaluations
       o Completions, workovers and production facilities pipelines, ideally complemented by field experience
       o Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet and common oil industry software applications is required
