THE OPPORTUNITY:
The Production Engineer will be a key member of our team and contribute in the following ways:
Provide preliminary scoping and design for proposed facility pipeline construction and upgrades, work with the Field Operations and Facilities teams to finalize these designs for assigned business area
Participate in exploration activities by helping to organize an effective execution plan and liaise with applicable internal teams to determine and design new pipelines and facilities
Work with other team members (Exploitation, Exploration, Land and Field Operations) to meet production and financial targets in area of responsibility

Central Alberta
HOW WILL YOU MAKE YOUR MARK?
Work with team to recommend optimum depletion strategies to maximize the company's assets
Work closely with Field Operations to ensure that production is optimized and operating costs are within the company's targets
Research, evaluate and recommend completion/work over candidates focusing on inactive wells to maximize the company's oil and natural gas production
Work with team members to generate area production operating budgets
Provide cost estimates for and approve AFEs and mail ballots for wells and facilities, check and approve related invoicing
Liaise with Production Accounting, Financial Accounting, Marketing, Joint Ventures and Commercial Operations as required
These positions require regular travel to the field locations
QUALIFICATIONS:
Typically 3+ years of related industry experience with an Engineering Degree or candidates with a Diploma in Petroleum Engineering Technology and typically 5+ years of directly related experience may also be considered
Familiarity with and understanding of:
o Surface and down hole production operations (oil and natural gas), water flooding, artificial lift methods, compression, property evaluations
o Completions, workovers and production facilities pipelines, ideally complemented by field experience
o Proficiency in word processing, spreadsheet and common oil industry software applications is required
