We are seeking an individual with the drive, determination, skills and ambition to help take our company to the next level of manufacturing excellence. Our company is well established in the coal mining industry and has been in business for more than 25 years.
We specialize in the repair and rebuilding of underground mining equipment. We are seeking an individual who is familiar and has worked with this type of equipment either in a similar shop setting or in the mining industry. This is a hands on position that requires troubleshooting problems and at times assisting in the repair of the machines. Our company is located in south central West Virginia and is known for proximity to great hunting, fishing and other outdoor recreation. Production Manager
I. Planning
A. Pre-Bid
1. Participate in pre-bid meetings to determine labor and material necessary to complete job being bid.
B. Post-Award
1. Meet with appropriate sales representative and the management assistant to go over all aspects of the proposal and the project before beginning project plan. Any special requests or specifications that are unusual need to be explained in depth to the production manager.
C. Production - Responsible for producing a quality product while meeting the stated budget and production deadline.
1. Take the project proposal and plan the production process using Microsoft Project.
a. Plan the exact tasks that need to be performed. Schedule the order of the tasks that are to be performed.
b. Schedule the workforce - which men are to do each task.
c. Decide what material has to be ordered and when to meet the project deadline. (Team Leaders are authorized to requisition material for their projects.)
d. Adjust the schedule as necessary to accommodate unforeseen circumstances as they arise.
2. Determine tools and equipment needed to complete production efficiently.
a. Assign and track company owned tools
II. Communicating
A. Communicate the plan to the workforce.
B. Requisition materials needed for projects. (Team Leaders are authorized to requisition material for their projects.) Work with Team Leaders and purchasing to ensure that materials are received accurately and timely.
C. Keep sales representative informed if any situation arises that may affect ability to meet customer’s deadline.
D. Communicate with sales and customer if necessary regarding changes in specifications, work outside the originally quoted scope, etc.
E. Communicate production progress to management.
III. Delegating
A. Make sure the plan is carried out.
B. Work with the purchasing assistant to ensure that parts are received and stocked timely.
C. Work with the purchasing assistant to ensure that parts to be returned are returned quickly.
IV. Safety
A. Ensure that the production facility meets OSHA and State of WV safety standards.

V. Facility Maintenance
A. Maintenance of all production equipment, loaders, lifts, etc.
B. Maintenance of all shop trucks.
C. Building maintenance
D. Lot and property maintenance
VI. Personnel
A. Interviewing, administering welding tests and making final hiring decisions for floor employees
B. Reviewing floor employees
C. Disciplining floor personnel - up to and including dismissal
D. Reasonable suspicion drug testing
