Production Manager – LISI Medical – Escondido, CA

We have an opportunity for a Production Manager, at LISI Medical in Escondido, CA, who will oversee, supervise, and be responsible for 45-60 people (3 shifts) in an automatic machining environment to include: CNC mills, CNC lathes, and swiss screw machines. You will be responsible for ongoing production and serve as a liaison between production and other departments, develop production metrics.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Manage and Leads production technique improvements, adhere to quality, and productivity
- Manage and assesses production goals and develops plans to meet productivity, quality and customer satisfaction goals and objectives; reviews and communicates schedules and prepares status reports
- Develops and maintains mechanisms for achieving and monitoring goals, and for intervention and problem solving with production supervisors and leads
- Analyzes production specifications and plant capacity data, and performs mathematical calculations to determine manufacturing processes, tools, and human resource requirements
- Expedites operations that delay schedules and alters schedules to meet unforeseen conditions
- Prepares production reports
- Ensures all environmental process are followed, such as but not limited to hazardous material storage, labeling, disposal, and recycling
- Oversees overall safety practices by employees, is an active member of the safety committee and ensures all safety corrective actions are completed to achieve accident prevention
- Responsible for planning and implementing production improvement initiatives and ensures production employees understand and follow customer requirements and the Quality Management System
- Evaluates production employees training needs and develops action plans to ensure employees have required technical skills to perform duties assigned
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED
- Requires Bachelor’s degree (B.A./B.S)
- Over 5 years demonstrated manufacturing experience in a fast paced manufacturing machining environment
- Requires demonstrated experience and ability to manage people and developing METRICS for three shifts
- Ability to develop, monitor and improve manufacturing METRICS and the ability to deploy resources to achieve daily goals by utilizing PEOPLE and MACHINES
- Requires experience of continuous improvement with the ability to apply LEAN TOOLS as kaizen event to reduce LEAD TIME and CYCLE TIME
- Must have proven project management skills and proposal support
- Design work flows, implement and use Six Sigma/ SPC and develop SOP’S (Standard Operating Procedures)
- Experience in Microsoft PowerPoint required
- Should have knowledge of ERP Systems and their capabilities, with intermediate skills in spreadsheets, data collection and electronic communications
- Certificates, licenses, registrations APICS/CPIM Certification or equivalent is a plus
