Production Operative Job in Royston, Home Counties Uk

An opportunity has arisen for a Production Operative within a manufacturing company based in Royston. Working within the Primary Metal Processing Department, you will be responsible for the melting, forging, rod rolling of wire bars and the production of sheet ingots. Duties of the role will include handling ingots of precious metal, which can be heavy, planning and working efficiently, meeting tight deadlines and meeting production targets. You will be joining a busy and friendly team where you will be expected to work in a fast paced environment and will need to be flexible to work overtime when required. Due to the nature of the role, unfortunately smokers will not be considered. Hours of work are Monday to Friday on rotating shifts of 6am to 14.15pm, 14.00pm to 22.15pm and Sunday to Thursday 22.00pm to 06.15am.

The ideal candidate must have previous experience of working within a manufacturing environment and be manually dextrous. You must have an enthusiastic and flexible approach to work and be able to communicate effectively at all levels. Experience of working within a foundry/casting shop would be an advantage. A good standard of education is required, the minimum being 5 GCSEs grade (or equivalent) with at least grade C in Maths and English).
