PRODUCTION PLANNER – MANUFACTURING

This is an exciting and diverse opportunity for a someone with proven planning / scheduling skills to join our Cheshire based manufacturing team. Your role will be to provide production planning support to the Production Manager, ensuring adequate stock levels of all raw materials, liaising with suppliers and sales, advising management of revisions to schedules, raising orders etc etc

Typically candidates will have excellent planning and administration skills, be highly organised and fully pc literate. The role would suit a graduate with 2-3 years experience in a similar administrative position or someone with a proven track record in a production planning / inventory management environment.

The Role:
In This diverse role you will be working as a key part of the production team and overseeing the day to day scheduling of production and inventory management to ensure that the key areas of cost, service efficiency are met by getting the right product at the right price at the right time.

Key Responsibilities include:
* Ensuring supplies of all raw materials are available
* Preparation of schedules to ensure the timely and efficient manufacture of all product.
* Liaise with production staff to ensure adherence to the production plans.
* Liaise with the sales team re minimal stocks possible out of stocks
* High level of customer focus, both internal and external
* Raise production works orders maintain routes structures for existing new products
* Management of supplier agreements.
* Ensuring stock availability of all substrate.
* Advise production management of revisions to schedules as they arise
* Monitor actual production against sales to ensure no overstocking
* Ensure that schedules result in high production productivity and machine utilisation
* Supply pre standard operating procedure data for capacity information for the Production Director/Manager
* Raising distribution requirement planning orders as per history reports requirements
* Managing Obsolete stocks to ensure minimum right off
* Managing new launch stock to ensure correct deadlines are met for launch with the right stock levels

Key Skills / Attributes:
* Degree qualification (or equivalent) is highly desirable
* Minimum 2 years experience in a planning / scheduling role OR a position which has required a high level of administrative and organisational skill
* Good communication, numerical and analytical skills
* Strong interpersonal skills
* Full pc literate and competent in access and excel
* Continually thinks about and works towards the agreed objective whatever the circumstances.
* Excellent planning and organisational skills.
* The ability to work effectively as a member of a team.
* An ability to collate and create reports based on information provided
