POSITION SUMMARY:
This position is responsible to plan and control all scheduling activities, balancing production and inventory levels with demand. The incumbent will work in conjunction with personnel in all functional areas across the organization in multiple locations in order to meet global customer demands.
KEY ATTRACTIONS:
This position is a very visible and influential planning role. This role is ideal for a motivated self starter who is grooming to take on larger or managerial roles in the future, such as a Supervisor or Supply Chain Manager. This role is also housed in the central Distribution Center for Cooper Crouse-Hinds, and therefore will get exposure to different products and parts of the business.
DUTIES RESPONSIBILITIES:
The position is responsible for ensuring that production operates in accordance with customer requirements and attaining 99% customer service levels. The position is responsible for working cooperatively with associates, other support personnel within the facility, personnel at other Division facilities, and outside suppliers. This also includes being responsible to maintain a safe, clean and healthy work environment consistent with established policies and procedures.
· Support target consistent with 99% customer service levels and capacity utilization
· Determine if production will be constrained in future periods; load level production plan, and identify potential corrective actions such as: working overtime, adding equipment, outsourcing or expediting.
· Develop Sales Operating Plan summaries for assigned product families and selected SKU’s including demand and production data.
· Review monthly sales forecasts provided by the Demand Manager.
· Develops feasible, master production schedules for finished goods and sub assembly items based on capacity requirements.
· Provides daily-bucketed schedules by SKU to manufacturing and install production compliance metrics to measure performance (schedule adherence).
· Work with local SAP team and lead site effort to eliminate the use of off-line spreadsheets and processes for scheduling.
· Review New Product introductions, and Promotion Calendar to ensure that Supply Chain can support all program requirements.
· Coordinate supply of finished goods, assembled components and parts to intercompany and distribution centres. Corresponding with manufacturing plants, and international affiliates concerning requirements
· Lead efforts to install standard processes for the Production Planning function
· Present summary of key information at daily Management Production meeting.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
· Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business, or other relevant field
· A minimum of 2-5 years experience in senior planner role in a manufacturing/materials management environment
· Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office and other tools
· Strong organizational skills, timely decision-making skills, thorough planning and time management
· Ability to set and adhere to priorities and good written and oral communications
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
· APICS Certification and SAP/MRP Class A Experience
· Working knowledge of lean manufacturing and continuous improvement efforts
