General Summary: Under the direction of the Controller, this position will supervise the packaging line scheduling process and directly manage the flow of raw materials at the plant from supplier to finished products. The Materials Scheduling Supervisor will be responsible for all component inventory levels and will be the plant liaison with all stakeholders for both the scheduling and procurement process. Job Description Essential Functions/Responsibility: -Responsible for providing to their work team all job related Safety training, and for ensuring team compliance with all safety policies and procedures. -- -Personally complies with all safety policies and procedures. - Supervise and act as back up for any of his/her local Production Planners.. -This position will have full responsibility for developing and maintaining an efficient scheduling process for the packaging lines at the plant. -Work closely with the production department to coordinate the scheduling process. Responsible for overseeing the MRP process and releases of raw materials from suppliers. -Resolves any issues that may have a negative impact on the scheduling process or plant production with corporate planning organization and other stakeholders. -Maintains good working relationship with suppliers with respect to component and raw material requirements, availability, delivery, cancellations, run outs, and new introductions -Provide a positive and professional example to plant and corporate employees promoting a team environment. -Communicates effectively with all plant and corporate personnel, suppliers, and other stakeholders such that the plant is represented in a professional manner at all times. -Resolve any component shortfalls with corporate purchasing and suppliers -Track and expedite all raw material deliveries including but not limited to rail cars, tanker trucks, line hauls, and other types as necessary. -Work closely with the receiving department to maintain a schedule of incoming raw materials and resolve any possible issues that may impact that schedule.. -Assist the receiving department to resolve any problems with purchase order receipts -Work within a just in time environment promoting the correct inventory levels to balance production with demand and not to jeopardize either one. -Manage raw material inventory to required levels and maintain WMS/SAP system accordingly. -Responsible for maintaining, creating, and changing as necessary both the purchase orders and material masters within SAP. -Advise and work closely with all plant supervisors and managers on any issues pertaining to the scheduling and purchasing processes that will have an impact on successful plant production Insure Lakewood is providing the most innovative and efficient processes within C D guidelines by working closely with corporate scheduling and procurement as well as by sharing best practices with other manufacturing sites. -Other projects and duties as may be assigned by the Plant Controller -Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Ability to build positive relations at all levels of the organization demonstrated by excellent interpersonal skills.
