Accountability:  This Position Reports to the Quality Manager

Job Duties/Responsibilities

·         Train factory floor people on manufacturing equipment, quality processes, and data gathering requirements.

·         Manage factory floor material defects discovered and assist in short term and long term disposition (MRR.)

·         Report/escalate and resolve of factory floor issues, such as production/assembly issues.

·         Develop and implement manufacturing control plans.

·         Investigate and implement factory CAPA (recipient.)

·         Inspect finished goods material according to AQL and/or other applicable standards.

·         Inspect Incoming material (including purchased products and raw materials.)

·         Perform In-process inspections/verifications in manufacturing and assembly areas.

·         Notify supervisors or other personnel of in-process product quality problems, and assist in identifying and correcting these problems.

·         Analyze and improve manufacturing processes.

·         Assist in driving process improvements through development and implementation of control plans, inspections, and other related methods.

·         Investigate and determine resolutions for quality complaints. 

·         Assist in managing calibrated equipment issuance and maintenance.

·         Participate in Internal audit of Havis’ quality system as an auditor.

·         Assist in developing quality procedures and/or manufacturing and assembly work instructions.

·         Other related duties as assigned by the Quality Manager. 

Minimum Requirements:

·         High School diploma or general education degree (GED); additional technical training desirable. 

·         Experience reading engineering drawings, understanding engineering specifications, and related technical documents.

·         Experience using calipers, gauges, and related inspection equipment in a production environment to inspect sheet metal, machined, injection molded, die cast, and other manufactured parts. 

·         Detail-oriented, with good record-keeping skills and experience handling multiple tasks simultaneously.

·         Basic knowledge of mathematics and manufacturing processes.

·         Experience in an ISO 9000 registered company.  Actual participation on a successful implementation team is desirable.

·         Experience with the quality audit process including planning, preparation, execution, reporting, and follow up.

·         Experience with statistical process control methods, process controls, control charts, and other process metrics. Measurement system experience is desirable.

·         General knowledge and hands on experience with metrology, and mechanical/electronic instrumentation.

·         Experience with and strong understanding of quality philosophies, quality principles, quality systems, quality methods, quality tools, quality standards.  Quality Engineering Certification or equivalent certification is desired.

·         ASQ certification is desirable.

·         Ability to perform tasks with minimal supervision and translate verbal and written instructions into process documentation.

·         Experience with Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and related office-type software on a Windows platform.

·         Strong written and oral communication skills.

·         Professional communications both inside and outside of the company by email and phone to other employees and to suppliers. 

·         Must occasionally be able to lift and move from 50 to 100 lbs.

·         Corrected 20/20 vision.

·         Minimum of two (2) years quality technician experience with increasing responsibility and proven ability in dealing with customers, suppliers, and/or certification agency representatives.

·         Working knowledge of problem solving techniques and analysis.

·         Ability to sustain moderate to heavy physical activity in a non-air conditioned factory environment.
