Position Description:

Job Goals:
Provides supervision and coordination of varied multiple activities to ensure the production of high performance products with the quality, delivery, and cost to meet customer’s requirements. Responsible for daily supervision of department personnel and local project management.

Responsibilities:
• Exhibits and assures department conformance to safety awareness and safe work practices
• Abide by the company policies and business practices at appropriate level
• Responsible for coordination and extensive contact with other production areas as well as engineering disciplines including production planning, manufacturing engineering, quality control, and product engineering
• Coordinate production operation within multiple departments utilizing a variety of equipment, methods, standards or complex technology over a multiple shift period
• Plan and execute production schedule, maintain a safe inventory of raw materials, finished product, and spare parts
• Monitor and react to established performance indicators, including: budget variances, production, quality and safety metrics
• Leader in coordination of activities across production areas
• Supervise daily activities of subordinates on respective shifts. In addition, develop personal/departmental goals and objectives and critique previous performance with each employee through an annual review
• Recommend and initiate projects to continuously improve the production equipment and work environment to ensure quality levels in an ISO certified facility
• Manage departmental activities and coordinate with other departments to meet facility/corporate objectives
• Initiate/Participate in self-development and training others
• Perform other related duties as may be reasonably assigned in the course of business

Qualifications:

Education, Skills and Requirements:
• Bachelors Degree, preferably in an Engineering discipline or equivalent
• 5+ years of Supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment
• Six Sigma, Lean Manufacturing and/or Focused Factory experience required
• Knowledge of coating operation a plus
• Must be independent, quality and cost conscious, with skills in leadership and team building
• Excellent organizational skills
• Excellent communication skills, written and verbal
• Computer skills necessary to fulfill requirements of position
• Self motivated, able to make independent decisions
