Production Supervisor
Summary: Supervises and coordinates activities of employees engaged in operating variety of machines to manufacture parts or products by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following (Other duties may be assigned):
- Supervise operations of a production business unit including workflow, people and resources.
- Maintain time cards and resolve employee personal scheduling conflicts.
- Execute the production schedule.
- Determine staffing needs based on forecasting and line capacities.
- Hire or assist in hiring and coordinate training plans for new employees.
- Ensure manufacturing procedures are followed and quality standards are maintained.
- Responsible for ongoing evaluation of employee performance, motivation and discipline of employees and conducting formal performance evaluations timely and objectively. Identify and groom future leaders in manufacturing.
- Foster good communication and teamwork within production and with other departments.
- Support and maintain a training system to ensure production personnel are properly performing the tasks they are assigned.
- Support and maintain a 5S system.
- Maintain a safe work environment. May need to take injured employees for treatment/appointment. Assist in developing safe operating procedures for machines/equipment.
- Work with the leadership team to improve procedures and processes to reduce scrap and rework. Encourage employees to participate in the continuous improvement process.
- Maintain good attendance and work hours necessary to complete assigned tasks. Must be available for daily inter-shift production briefing.
- Analyze and resolve work problems, or assist employees in solving work problems.
- Participate in budgeting, planning production forecasting.

- Follow all company safety policies and procedures and attend all safety trainings related to the job position.
Essential Education, Skills and Experience:
- Bachelors degree in Technology or Business with 2 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment or 2 year technical degree with 5 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
- Prefer experience in a multi-shift production environment.
- Good technical writing and verbal communication skills required. Fluent in English both verbal and written.
- Computer software skills: Proficient in MS Office tools.
- Thorough understanding of Lean Manufacturing methods (5S, Demand Flow, 6-sigma).
- Demonstrated planning, communication and execution skills.
- Self-motivated and goal-orientated.
Supervisory Responsibilities:
- Provides supervision of Line Leaders and production personnel. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Physical/Environmental Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 25 lbs.
