RESPONSIBILITIES:

·         Ensure production schedules are met.  Follow-up and deal with any problems that may occur.

·         Ensure that production rate, waste and downtime targets are met

·         Co-ordinate the various department schedules, products and manpower to ensure that the production in the plant runs smoothly.

·         Check throughout shift to ensure that proper methods and procedures are being used and that quality, safety, environment standards are being met.

·         Provide assistance in scheduling, forecasting changes and demands and resolving production and manpower problems.

·         Provides orientation and training as required to ensure an effective and efficient work force.

·         Ensure that a safe working environment is maintained at all times by enforcing Company standards and following up on regular inspections.

·         Ensure that the provisions of the collective bargaining agreement are understood and adhered to.

·         Responsible for supervising all production departments in the plant.

·         Assist production services and engineering services with the installation and testing of equipment, methods and/or products.

Job Requirements:

·         Completion of Food Science or Engineering program is preferred.

·         Familiarity with automated process/packaging technology is an asset.

·         Supervisory experience is an asset.

·         Must be a demonstrated decision-maker who easily interacts with others and is adept at leading and motivating a team.

·         Must have excellent interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.

·         Working knowledge of MS word, Excel and E-Mail would be beneficial.

·         Must be able to work all shifts, including weekends.
