Production Supervisor Job in Cedar Hill 75104, Texas US

Sampco, the nation’s premier marketing company for the building materials industry, is looking for a Production Supervisor for its Cedar Hill location.

The production supervisor plans, directs, and coordinates production, safety and quality activities for 50-100+ employees daily.  This position may also coordinate maintenance activities for the organization.

 

Essential Job Functions:

·   Participates in daily production meetings to ensure customer commitments are met and communicates goals to manufacturing personnel.

·   Coordinates and manages the production process in order to ensure the proper utilization of materials, labor and equipment to guarantee compliance to customer commitments and internal profit expectations.

·   Directs the allotment of available resources to meet the customer’s needs.

·   Reviews production schedules, work orders and customer specifications to facilitate delivery times.

·   Coordinates with operations management to insure work order policy and procedures are adhered to in order to support an efficient manufacturing flow and ensure quality standards and accurate inventories are met.

·   Reviews product specifications and quality requirements in support of the production schedule.

·   Interviews applicants and coordinate all new hire paperwork with Operations Manager or designee.

·   Trains and supervises a team consisting of light assemblers, team leaders, heavy/skilled machine operators, quality inspectors and material handlers.

·   Prepares and reviews daily labor reports, quality metrics and other production related reports and/or metrics.

·   Assists in the training and communication of safety related materials and procedures.

·   Assists in material management and inventory of raw materials and print, as required.

·   Monitors equipment functionality; makes minor repairs and adjustments to equipment; determines maintenance schedule for equipment with others.

·   Assists in performing physical inventories and/or cycle counts, as required.

·   Assists in the planning and inspection of Safety and Housekeeping (5S) process.

·   Transport employees to clinic, as required

·   Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:

·   Minimum 3 years experience in a manufacturing environment required.

·   High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred, but not required.

·   Bi-lingual capabilities a plus.

·   Lean Manufacturing experience a plus.

·   Ability to pass and maintain company approved, written and operational evaluation examines for the safe operation of forklifts.

·   Must be organized, self-motivated, detail oriented individual with the ability to multi-task and follow instructions.
