Responsible for

·         Quality performance of production operations and personnel

·         Following and achieving the production schedule across all work centers

·         Safety and shop housekeeping

·         Hiring and supervising shop production personnel.

·         Training of shop personnel

·         Responsible for coordinating programming of new and revised products; creation and maintenance of set-up and inspection sheets to meet production schedule dates.

·         Labor and count reporting accuracy of shop personnel

·         Attendance reporting for shop personnel

·         Promotion and discipline to Company policies and procedures

 

Process owner for

·         Product Inspection and Test Status (4.11.1)

·         Equipment Maintenance (4.20.1)

 

Process performance measures

·         Scrap as percent of sales

·         Performance to schedule

·         Direct Labor as percent of sales to budget

·         Set-up and run performance

 

Specific Accountabilities:                               

 

Quality:

 

1.                   Working closely with quality department, assure that all procedures and work instructions are being followed by production personnel.

2.                   Utilizing lean techniques and continuous improvement tools, promote a continuous improvement culture throughout manufacturing.

3.                   Participate in daily MRB meetings; initiate corrective action where necessary.

4.                   Coach and train employees toward improved quality performance.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              

 

 

Production Schedule:

 

1.                   Working closely with the master scheduler, maintain production schedule to assure on-time delivery commitments are met.  Assure that the production capacity is in alignment with the master schedule.

2.                   Manage to work center schedule; align personnel competencies with work center needs.

3.                   Support and promote a set-up reduction program.

 

 

Safety and Housekeeping

 

1.                   Follow and maintain safety program to assure that all employees are working within all OSHA compliance requirements, Safety policies and procedures, and that safe work habits are instilled in all employees.

2.                   Develop and maintain clean and orderly conditions throughout the production facility.

 

Production Management and Supervision  

 

1.                   Manage and oversee production employees.  Monitor the quality, productivity, safety and housekeeping performance of all employees and work with them to correct any areas of marginal performance.

2.                   Perform annual performance reviews.

3.                   Hire and train new production employees as needed; assure that capabilities, skills and work habits are aligned with company needs.

4.                   Maintain shop employee training matrix and competencies matrix.
