Production Supervisor (Waterloo, IA)

Description:
Position Summary:
This is a supervisory position that is responsible for the supervision of operational activities in accordance with departmental policies, procedures, and standards to achieve established production schedules and desired quality levels. There are currently ~50 direct reports into this position.

Organizational Relationship:
Reports directly to the Manufacturing Manager.

Accountabilities:
• Achieve departmental, plant, and corporate goals for safety, quality, productivity, etc.
• Supervise the activities and personnel engaged in manufacturing of products within your assigned department and shift.
• Manage multiple production processes.
• Develop, direct, and manage manufacturing personnel and train them to properly utilize all equipment and tools.
• Engage employees in continuous improvement, safety, quality, and other company initiatives.
• Interpret, model, apply, and enforce all company policies, procedures, programs, rules, regulations, and safety requirements.
• Consistently administer company policies and practices regarding attendance, performance, etc.
• Promote clean, safe work areas throughout the plant by continuously checking for and addressing hazardous conditions.
• Lead production employees in continuous improvement activities.
• Promote employee morale by portraying a positive image of the company and applying employee engagement techniques.
• Direct manufacturing personnel to maintain product quality and meet customer requirements.
• Communicate effectively with employees on a daily basis.
• Participate in activities such as training and safety programs in order to enhance the overall effectiveness of the work areas involved.
• Initiate and complete value-added projects.
• Manage necessary supply inventory levels.
• Maintain visual management boards.
• Maintain collaborative working relationships with vendors and employees.
• Ability to travel as required. Estimated travel currently anticipated for this position is ~• Other duties as may be assigned at management’s discretion.

Education Experience:
• High school diploma or GED equivalent is minimally required.
• A Bachelor-level degree in a technical or business field is highly preferred.
• 3+ years of supervisory experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting, is required.
• Knowledge of the cabinet industry is preferred.
