Production Supervisor
*** PRODUCTION SUPERVISOR - BURNLEY - FMCG - £32,000 ***
KEY PURPOSE OF THE ROLE:
- The key purpose of the role of the Production Supervisor is to ensure that all company and legislative health and safety regulations are maintained at all times, driving health and safety awareness and striving to continuously improve site safety performance
- Supervise the production lines and people to meet the Company business plan of achieving a financial return on investment by maximising the efficiency and performance of the plant and people
- Provide adequate cover to execute all duties in the absence of the Production Shift Manager
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE
- Manage the production department In the absence of the Production Shift manager
- Working with the Shift Production Manager be totally committed to driving the plant and its people towards World class Soft Drinks Manufacturing, reducing cost per case by working to reduce machine breakdown and changeover times and optimising the efficiency
- Manage all BPCS and pack spec plus requirements within the operations department
- Manage and compile all downtime reporting through gathering all relevant information via the PR1 sheets and machine downtime log and report the information onto a downtime reporting database
- Manage and promote effective employee relations within the workplace
- Conduct relevant investigation and disciplinary meetings in relation to absence, performance and conduct in a fair and consistent manner
- Lead a team of people, empowering them to be self motivated, develop and drive Key performance targets, provide feedback on a regular basis to the Production Shift Manager
- Manage people performance issues fairly and objectively, by promoting awareness of company people policies.

- Ensure that standards are maintained to the highest level at all times through establishing and maintaining an audit process that covers the key KPI's
- To ensure that first time quality is a priority of all team members through effective management of process control methods and HACCP systems adherence, by seizing opportunities to promote awareness of quality through policies and process. To result in zero defects
- Prioritise responsibilities to ensure housekeeping and hygiene are maintained to an acceptable level in line with GMP
- Instill the ethos of Health Safety, Quality and Production
- Establish and maintain effective communication channels and ensure all communication is accurate, open and honest
- To have a flexible attitude and approach to support the needs of the manufacturing function
SKILLS, EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
Understanding and awareness of up to date manufacturing technology and processes associated with a FMCG company
- Minimum 2 years experience in similar role
- Employee Relations (to include experience in investigations, disciplinaries, appeals)
- Ability to analyse, interpret and understand data
- A level Maths English preferred
- IT literate - Word, Excel and PowerPoint
- An understanding of lean manufacturing tools associated with a FMCG company
- Ability to understand the principles and processes of effective communicate / presentation and when and how to apply them in all aspects of the role.
- People management knowledge - the ability to motivate and manage direct reports, ensuring maximum performance output is achieved through managing through recognised techniques and policies
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Decisive, pro-active and assertive
- Ability to demonstrate working under initiative and think things through to solution
