Production Support Analyst – SocGen recruitment

This is a technical role requiring at least 1 years experience in a UNIX environment with exposure to SYBASE or a similar relational database application.  No previous banking experience is required but should have some experience of working as part of an IT team in a medium – large organisation.  UNIX is an essential pre-requisite for this post but a combination of formal and on-the-job training will be given for other aspects of the role.

Main responsibilities

Most work will be assigned directly to the individual by the IT Production Support Team Leader and/or the Service Delivery Manager. Key skills for this role are:

As experience is gained and responsibilities transferred the individual will be expected to liaise with a business analyst, accurately assess the extent and impact of the required enhancements, estimate time required to develop, unit test and deliver on those estimates.

The role will require the candidate to work shifts in order to cover an extended business day and will include overnight, weekend and bank holiday on-call.

Minimum 1 years UNIX experience is required for this role ideally with some exposure to SYBASE or similar relational database application.  Experience of working in an IT team within a mid-large organisation is preferable.

Mandatory:

Must have 1 years UNIX experience.  Good general computer skills, familiarity with technology affairs and a demonstrable aptitude for development/support.

Desirable but not essential:

Korn Shell,  SYBASE,  ORACLE, Citrix, GLOSS.

Personal abilities

Must be ambitious, self-motivated, communicative and able to work both within a development/support team and as an individual.
